Detectives believe six attacks since February 2004 in Gorton may be the work of one man.
Patrols have been increased permanently in the Tan Yard Brow and Melland playing fields areas, where the attacks have been concentrated.
In the latest incident on 8 August, a 20-year-old woman was raped.
Police say there are a number of similarities in the descriptions given by victims.
They say the man is white, aged 20 to 30, about 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, with a local accent and deep voice.
He normally wears casual clothing with a hood or hat - possibly a beanie-style hat - covering his face.
Anyone with information is urged to ring Greater Manchester Police or Crimestoppers.
